First State Karate opened in 2020 in Millsboro, Delaware, founded and family-owned by David and Ilene Vazquez. We offer a welcoming, family-friendly environment where students ages 4 and up train in classes grouped by age and experience.
As a veteran-owned dojo, we teach traditional Okinawa Kempo Karate with a strong curriculum focused on self-defense, kata, sparring, and traditional weapons. Beyond training, our students enjoy tournaments, beach workouts, holiday events, and more.
Led by Sensei David, who brings over 30 years of experience, our mission is to develop both skill and character building, confidence, focus, perseverance, and leadership in every student.
